We are honored, delighted, and excited to be chosen as part of the 2018 Performing Arts Exchange in Orlando, FL!
SouthArts is a division of the National Endowment for the Arts. At PAE 2018, SouthArts is presenting Violet Bell as part of a curated Performing Arts Discovery Showcase highlighting the diversity of traditional music from the South.
With support from the National Endowment for the Arts and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, South Arts’ Performing Arts Discovery: American Sounds introduces presenters from outside the United States to artists representing quintessentially American music – traditional/folk, Native American, jazz, blues, Gospel, zydeco, country, bluegrass and more. Through PAD/AS, SouthArts building and expanding relationships to create new opportunities for American musicians to tour abroad.
Thank you to our fans, friends, and supporters who help us to keep discovering new opportunities to share our music!
In early summer 2018, we recorded our debut full-length album, Honey in My Heart. Honey in My Heart is set for release in early 2019. Cut at the Fidelitorium in Kernersville with engineer Jason Richmond (Steep Canyon Rangers; Bombadil), the songs were done live, without isolation or click tracks.
In the words of Mountain Xpress writer Edwin Arnaudin, Honey in My Heart is “full of personality; the raw sounds feel consistent with the duo’s true selves as opposed to hiding behind studio wizardry.”
We are so excited to share this collection of 11 songs with you. Thank you to our fans, friends and supporters who keep traveling this road with us.
BREAKING VIOLET BELL NEWS! We are overjoyed to report that we have been awarded an OFFICIAL SHOWCASE at next month's AMERICANAFest in Nashville. We cannot thank you enough, friends at Americana Music Association for believing in us this early in our career. We can't wait to play this important festival in the shadows of the iconic Ryman, the Opry, the Station Inn and the Bluebird. Our showcase is Saturday 15 September, 9 pm at The Local. Americana badgeholders and wristband folks get in first, and, if there is still room, tickets will be available to the public. We are so excited!
